Dr. T. Marquis Ramsey is a native son of West Palm Beach, Florida. He is the Senior Pastor and Teacher of the newly established St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, North Carolina. He is a man of astonishing faith, master martial artist, and a peace advocate. His Japanese name is Bushi Yamato-damashii, which translates as "Warrior of the Old Japanese Spirit." He is a former United States Marine, and DoD CQC Instructor. He is a Special Consultant and Master Trainer for Juggernaut Defensive Consulting Associates, an international tactical/defensive consulting and training agency for special security/military operations, and civilians. His nature is most dichotomous. He exhibits both a peaceful manner, and an intrepid character when he is about the Lord's affairs. Dr. Ramsey is a preacher and teacher par excellence. His early education is attributed to the Palm Beach County School System. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from the University of Southern California Graduate School of Theology, (Fresno, CA). He later completed his Master of Sacred Theology degree at the University of Brighton (Essex, England). He earned the Master of Biblical Studies degree with honors (cum laude) from New Hope Bible College (Winston-Salem, NC).
He was later awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in Systematic Theology (Ph.D.) from the University of Brighton (Essex, England). Other institutions of which he has studied include: Union Theological Seminary, Bethany Bible College & Divinity School, and Hood Theological Seminary (Livingstone College). He is currently studying Religion and Hieroglyphs at Harvard University Extension School (Cambridge, Mass). He has both lived, studied, and trained in Europe, Africa, and the Far East. He has pastored in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and served as an Associate Pastor in the Church of God (Anderson, IN). He has served as a professor of Systematic Theology at Union Bible Institute, and Professor of Black Church Studies, Greek Literature, and Homiletics at Calvary Theological Institute. Dr. Ramsey is a member of the Baptist Association of Christian Educators (B.A.C.E.). He is Vice President of Student Affairs, and Professor of Systematic Theology and New Testament Greek at United Cornerstone School of Divinity (Thomasville, NC). Dr. Ramsey is a studious and commited preacher and teacher, and a devoted shepherd of his flock. Dr. Ramsey was a recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Award presented by the Martin Luther King Social Action Committee (MLK-SAC).Yet, with all of his academic prowess, he is very touchable and commited to reaching all people. His greatest inspirations for ministry and preaching were his mother, Mrs. Barbara Ramsey-Jones, and his grandmother, the late Reverend Minnie Ramsey-Smith. His greatest ministerial influences were: the late Bishop Rueben Lee Speaks, former Senior Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church; the late Elder R.J. Hendley, Greater Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Riviera Beach, Florida; and Bishop W. Oshea Granger, Senior Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the Regional Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. He is married to the beautiful, First Lady Christine LeGrand Ramsey. They have three sons (Aaron, Torrence, and Isaiah).
